Fire is more than warmth.
It is survival, control, and confidence.
This immersive 2-day experience is designed to take you beyond basic fire-making and guide you toward true fire mastery in real Norwegian conditions. You will learn how to create, manage, and sustain fire using both modern and primitive methods, even when the environment is cold, wet, and working against you.
Set in the raw beauty of the Norwegian forest, this course is hands-on from start to finish. You will work with natural materials, develop precision skills, and understand the deeper principles behind fire, so you are no longer dependent on luck, but on knowledge and technique.
What You Will Learn
Fire fundamentals: fuel, oxygen, heat, and environmental awareness
Identifying and processing natural tinder (birch bark, fatwood, fine kindling)
Crafting effective feather sticks and fire lays
Ferro rod mastery and efficient ignition techniques
Building and maintaining fire in wet and challenging conditions
Fire control, safety, and long-term sustainability
Introduction to friction fire: bow drill fundamentals
Creating an ember and turning it into flame using primitive methods
The Experience
Over two days and one night, you will progress through a structured learning path, from controlled ignition techniques to the challenge of creating fire from natural materials alone.
As the sun sets, the course shifts into a deeper experience: maintaining and working with fire in a wilderness setting. You will cook over the fire, understand heat management, and experience the essential role fire plays in outdoor living.
On the second day, you will face the final challenge, building your own friction fire set and creating coal from scratch. This moment defines the course: a direct connection between skill, patience, and result.
Who This Course Is For
Outdoor enthusiasts wanting real, practical skills
Beginners ready to build a strong foundation
Intermediate bushcrafters aiming to refine technique
Anyone seeking confidence in wilderness environments
No prior experience is required, but a willingness to learn, adapt, and work with your hands is essential.
Outcome
By the end of the course, you will not just know how to make fire, you will understand it.
You will leave with the ability to reliably create fire in different conditions, using both modern tools and primitive techniques.
You will earn your flame.
